申请的时候是带着这样决绝的心态的，无论如何也绝不去申请美国排名50开外的学校。无论是研究方向专业排名，还是综合排名。然而自己的成绩实在是有短板。那时手中没有一所学校的录取，也以为大约不会收到录取。可还是如此地执着。
然而随着三月的临近，却始终没有一封AD。3月6日晚上带着忐忑不安的心情入睡了，因为知道自己大约是要收到Cornell的拒信，然而第二天早上起床打开邮箱，却看到除却Cornell的拒信，还有一封Rice的AD静静地躺在邮箱里。当时并不是没有颤抖。小心翼翼地端详了好几遍Rice大学的Offer of Admission的Logo。心里别提有多高兴了。
但好景不长。没过多久我就发现自己的申请材料出现了错误。对于申请材料出现错误的情况，学校有权撤销录取。但是我还是写邮件如实向Rice反映了情况。然后在忐忑不安中等待着对方的处理结果。在当时那种情况下，一旦拒绝，就相当于我失去了唯一一所愿意录取我的学校给我提供的入学机会。
然后，在第二天我就收到了这样的来信：
Yuxuan,
You underestimate the thoroughness of the review process that we conduct for admission to the Rice MEE program. Two of your three letters of reference were from professors at Harbin Institute of Technology, and we were well aware of your undergraduate record at Harbin. (In fact, one of my top PhD students when I taught at Princeton University was from Harbin, and I have a very high opinion of the quality of students that graduate from HIT.)
Furthermore, some of the main reasons for our high expectations for your success in our MEE program is the 100% that you earned in “Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics” at HIT, and the 97%, 98%, and 98.6% that you earned in “Digital Electronic”, “Electronic Design Automation”, and “CMOS Analog IC’s”, all at HIT.
So please be assured that we have extended you an offer of admission to our MEE program because of the full breadth of your academic achievements, and that we have high hopes for your future success, whether or not you choose to continue your education in our MEE program at Rice University.

那一夜，收到这封邮件的我，独自一人坐在卧室里泣不成声。
22岁那年为了和男朋友一起，所以选择了留在国内，然后被无知的父母强行塞到了科研院所。上缴了护照，被要求不能出国读书。在那种情况下本想心安理得地抗争
申请目前收到的结果是
录取：Rice University，University of Michigan，University of Rochester， University of Maryland。
Waiting List：Northeastern University。
拒信：Columbia University，Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute，Yale University，Cornell University，Brown University，Vanderbilt University，Texas A&M university，Duke University。
Pending： Northwestern University，University of Southern California，Ohio State University，University of Pittsburgh，Washington University of St. Louis。
基本上从了Umich。
也来写写申请的过程和一些经验。
首先我认为申请研究生，本科GPA非常非常重要。我是在大学毕业之后申请的，所以GPA基本不能改变了。但是专业课的GPA非常好，所以这是申请的唯一亮点了。
GRE：
我的GRE在申请前刷了5次，但是每一次都没有做好十足的准备。 所以直到最后分数也不够高，成为了申请的短板。GRE的准备方法我觉得最关键的有两点：
1、背单词
背单词不是把英文发音、用法都背下来，只需要把《在要你命三千》中的3100个单词的中文意思背下来即可。做到看到单词能够想出中文意思就行。这样能够大大节省背单词的时间。
2、刷题
题目包括选择题和阅读题。选择题和你的词汇量息息相关。阅读题推荐《GRE结构化阅读法》以及《阅读36套》。掐时间把题刷完。掌握了GRE阅读的思路，拿高分就不难了。
TOEFL：
托福一定要刷官方的考试指南，因为托福考试会出其中的原题。其次要刷TPO中的模拟题，完全就是真题的难度。刷完上100分不是问题。如果觉得自己听力不好，可以把真题拿出来听写。口语可以用Delta里面的口语题练习。
